The Vanishing Power of Common Sense: A Silent Mental Assault

Have you ever wondered why common sense - once regarded as the strongest tool of human thinking - is rapidly disappearing from our society? Why has speaking the truth become offensive, and openly sharing honest opinions often silenced? What happened to the culture where logic and debate were encouraged, replaced now by a climate that shuns questioning and labels reasoning as insensitive?

Our way of perceiving the world has shifted from open-minded reflection to emotional reactions. It feels as though an unseen force has quietly taken control over our thinking - this isn’t science fiction but a daily reality. Around us, ideas circulate that slowly swallow our capacity to think logically, suppress our inner voice, and stifle freedom of thought. The most frightening aspect is that this mental takeover happens subtly, disguised as kindness, justice, and empathy, so we hardly notice it. We believe we are doing good, fighting for what’s right, but in reality, we are strangling our own freedom to think.

So the pressing question is: Will we recognize these infectious ideas? Will we stand fearlessly for truth again? Or will we become part of the crowd that blindly accepts every falsehood in search of comfort?

A Society Crumbling From Within: The Death by a Thousand Cuts

Imagine a sturdy building whose foundations slowly develop tiny cracks. At first, they go unnoticed. Over time, the walls begin to fracture, sounds of distress echo, but people ignore them - until the structure finally collapses. This is a metaphor for our society today.

A civilization that once led the world through science, art, thought, and freedom is quietly dismantling its own core values. No grand explosion or revolution caused this decline, but thousands of small mental wounds inflicted from within. When threats come from outside, we become alert. But when these threats arrive disguised in the language of rights, justice, and empathy - gradually invading our minds - do we recognize the danger?

Today’s soft violence is the biggest weapon. No ideas are openly imposed; instead, an atmosphere is created where questioning is taboo, truth is labeled hatred, and lies are cloaked as kindness. The media, academia, and social platforms spread an agenda discouraging logic, branding it as insensitive, and elevating feelings as the ultimate authority.

For example, a student stating a simple biological fact may be expelled and canceled on social media for “offending” others. A professor advocating merit and ability loses their job for speaking common sense. Truth has become rebellion. Our society, once proud of open debate and questioning, is now shrinking in fear  -  afraid to offend, afraid to think.

Thinking Versus Feeling: When Emotions Replace Reason

There was a time when people weighed ideas carefully, questioned them, and sought conclusions through reason. But now, emotion has replaced logic. If you tell someone their belief lacks factual basis, they may respond with hurt feelings and anger instead of engagement. The dominant question has shifted from “Is this true?” to “Will this hurt someone’s feelings?”

Imagine a doctor informing a patient of a serious illness needing urgent treatment. If the patient accuses the doctor of hurting their feelings, should the truth be withheld? In today’s world, truth-telling risks becoming a crime simply because it sounds harsh.

Even classrooms reflect this shift: a child questioning identity norms is silenced as “intolerant”. Asking questions has become unacceptable. This mental infection blankets truth like a fog, leaving us blindly wandering without direction.

Reasoning demands challenging facts and beliefs, but feelings offer an easy shortcut - if something feels wrong, dismiss it. This shortcut erodes our collective consciousness, letting emotions override evidence. Social and mainstream media champion the most offended voices as the ultimate arbiters of truth, while silent thinkers are branded cruel or outdated.

The struggle isn’t against an external enemy but against the misconception that feeling equals truth. Emotions can mislead. Consider a mother shielding her child from criticism due to love, or a group excusing wrongdoing because of a touching story. Societies rejecting uncomfortable truths only dig themselves deeper into confusion.

To preserve freedom of thought for future generations, we must disentangle feelings from facts and reclaim the courage to face truth, no matter how uncomfortable.

The Dangerous Trinity: Postmodernism, Radical Feminism, and Identity Politics

Some ideas challenge traditional notions of truth and fairness in ways that feel paradoxical and confrontational. Three ideological currents stand out for their deep impact:

Postmodernism argues there is no absolute truth - everything is relative, a matter of perspective. This mindset erodes the foundation of morality, allowing anyone to justify even the gravest acts by declaring their own “truth”.

Radical Feminism has shifted from seeking equality to viewing male identity as inherently oppressive. Every male success is dismissed as “privilege,” and disagreement is often labeled “misogyny”. This movement, once about rights, now focuses on reversing power dynamics based on gender rather than individual merit.

Identity Politics prioritizes group identity - race, religion, gender - over individual actions or character. It silences voices based on who someone is rather than what they say, reducing reasoned debate to battles of privilege and exclusion.

Together, these ideologies cultivate an environment where truth and logic are crushed under the guise of sensitivity and social justice. Merit is discounted; dissent becomes dangerous; freedom of thought is suffocated.

Anti-Science, Anti-Reason, and the Illusion of Liberalism

We live in a paradoxical era obsessed with science, yet quick to reject it when findings challenge preferred narratives. “Trust the science” is a popular refrain - until science contradicts identity or emotions, then it is labeled biased or discriminatory.

Scientific research is often dismissed or its proponents silenced when they speak inconvenient truths. The once-hallowed scientific method now competes with feelings as the final authority. Universities - once bastions of free thought - have become arenas of fear, where challenging dominant narratives leads to protests, bans, and censorship.

So-called liberal movements frequently become the most intolerant, demanding inclusion of identities but excluding dissenting ideas. Scientific facts about biological differences are attacked, researchers lose jobs for speaking them, and conversations about data become accusations of harm.

This movement undermines justice, progress, and truth. If feelings replace reason, how can society advance? Are we headed back to an age where speaking truth leads to exile, only with social media and cancel culture replacing literal fires?

Mental Parasites Infecting Our Cognition

Have you ever wondered whether your thoughts truly belong to you, or if they are implanted by external agendas? Humans pride themselves on consciousness and reasoning, but what if these faculties become infected by parasitic ideas?

Today, many “modern” ideas sound ethical and reasonable but subtly control our thinking like mental parasites. They infiltrate schools, media, government, and social networks, shaping how we view reality without our awareness.

For instance, teaching children that all opinions are equally valid and feelings are ultimate reality discourages critical thinking from a young age. As adults, many repeat these programmed ideas unquestioningly, mistaking them for their own beliefs.

This cognitive infection silences independent thought, turning individuals into programmed replicas. It spreads beyond individuals into entire institutions, gradually transforming society where logic and evidence are seen as oppressive and emotional reactions become moral imperatives.

Escaping this requires courage to question deeply ingrained “truths”, challenge accepted narratives, and relearn fearless reasoning. Without this, we are doomed to mere reactions, never genuine progress.

A Call to Action: Don’t Be a Sheep

Have you ever watched a crowd moving mindlessly, many afraid to stop and question the direction? The noise of the masses drowns out the power of individual thought. Many accept whatever is popular, safe, or politically correct without scrutiny.

If you are reading this, you may already be apart from that crowd. This is not just information - this is a warning and an urgent call. Will you choose to be a follower or one who dares to stand alone for truth?

History remembers those who questioned the status quo: the scientist condemned for saying the earth was round, the woman jailed for demanding voting rights, the writer punished for free thought. Their courage changed the world.

Every time you think freely, question boldly, and stand firm for truth, you create cracks in the walls that bind us. The more cracks, the sooner freedom returns.

Conclusion: Embrace the Power of Independent Thought

Our freedom to think, reason, and speak truth is under silent but relentless attack. This struggle is not about politics or ideology alone - it’s about the very essence of human dignity and progress.

You now hold the awareness to see through the fog of manipulation, the strength to resist parasitic ideas, and the courage to be a voice for truth even when it’s unpopular. Rise, question, speak, and inspire others.

Because when one stands for truth, others find the strength to do the same. Together, these voices form a movement that no silence can suppress.

The world needs thinkers, not sheep. Will you be one of them?
