As our parents age, the instinct to provide them with the best material comforts becomes a priority. Spacious rooms, advanced appliances, and personal caretakers are often arranged in the hope of offering them an ideal retired life. However, a touching story reveals that the essence of true care may lie not in luxuries, but in love, presence, and emotional connection.

A Simple Wish, A Profound Message

An elderly father, weakened by age and illness, persistently requested his son to move his cot to the front veranda. The son, Rohan, found himself troubled, unsure why his father would prefer the open corridor over his private room upstairs. His wife murmured in irritation - after all, they had provided a separate room on the second floor complete with air conditioning, a television, a refrigerator, and even a maid. She wondered aloud if the father had lost his mental sharpness at seventy.
